Every dog in our program is fully health tested before breeding.
Our evaluations include:

• OFA-certified hips and elbows

• CAER eye exams by board-certified ophthalmologists

• DNA testing for inherited conditions (including PRA, PFK, DM and FUCO)

Each dog’s results are publicly listed on OFA and linked on their individual pages, because transparency builds trust. 
 

Purposeful, Ethical Breeding
 

We breed with intention — to strengthen the English Springer Spaniel, not to fill demand.
Each pairing is carefully planned with attention to:

• Pedigree and health history

• Correct structure, movement, and breed type

• True English Springer temperament — merry, sensible, and willing

Litters are raised in our home, surrounded by the daily sights and sounds of family life. Puppies benefit from calm, consistent handling, exposure to normal routines, and time to grow naturally at their own pace.

We don’t subscribe to every passing puppy-raising fad. Instead, we focus on developmentally appropriate socialization based on decades of breeder experience and modern behavioral science.

From the time they can see and hear, puppies are gently exposed to:

• A variety of safe household sounds and surfaces

• Regular human interaction and grooming

• Age-appropriate play and confidence-building activities

Our goal is to send home puppies who are confident, well-balanced, and ready to integrate smoothly into their new homes — without unnecessary stress or overstimulation.
 

 AKC Registered & Responsibly Placed

All Ivy Hill puppies are:

• AKC-registered with limited registration

• Microchipped and veterinarian-checked prior to going home

• Sent home with a detailed “Going Home” packet that includes health records, feeding and care instructions, and training resources

We place puppies only after careful screening and conversation to ensure that every match is right — for both the puppy and the family.
