We do not embellish our dogs' accomplishments to "market" puppies. We value honesty and transparency and will never represent our dogs as something they are not. You won't find photos of others' dogs featured on our website without the owner or photographer's permission. We will never represent a dog as one of our breeding unless it bears the Ivy Hill kennel name.
 

We are a small, hobby breeder. We breed only when it is right for our program, not because it is convenient or profitable. Our litters are raised in our home as part of our family, never in a kennel, and always cared for adequately. 
 

We make breeding decisions based on which sire is most complimentary to our dam, not based on convenience or cost. Very rarely is the right sire available in the same town, let alone the same side of the country. Every pairing is carefully planned with temperament, health and the breed standard in mind. 
 

Health testing is non-negotiable. All of our breeding dogs meet or exceed CHIC standards, with testing for hips, elbows, eyes and breed specific DNA panels. We rely on science and data to guide our choices. 
 

We focus on making the right match - not just making a sale. Finding the right home for each puppy is as important to us as producing them. We take time to learn about each family's lifestyle, experiences and goals to ensure a good fit for everyone involved.
 

Raised for life, not just for sale. We breed infrequently so we can offer lifetime support and guidance. If circumstances ever change, we will always take back an Ivy Hill dog. No questions asked. 
 

Home socialization. Puppies are raised in the heart of our home, where they are exposed to household life, people, sounds and experiences that set them up for success in many environments. English Springer Spaniels are a breed that require regular grooming. We set our litters up for success with early and regular exposure to life's inconveniences by making sure our puppies are bathed, groomed, nails trimmed, and examined regularly. We abide by the Puppy Culture method of puppy raising and socialization- buyers say it shows. 
 

Committed to ongoing education. We stay current with best practices in genetics, puppy development and canine behavior to ensure our dogs are raised optimally.
 

Dedicated to responsible ownership. Our relationship doesn't end when you take your puppy home. We're here for advice, encouragement, support (and ALL the puppy spam!) throughout your dog's life.
 

Our puppies go home with everything they need to start strong.  Each puppy is pre-registered with AKC limited registration and goes with a comprehensive going-home packet including a 5 generation pedigree, free month of Trupanion accident/illness coverage, small bag of puppy food, PRA DNA test report, OFA eye exam report, veterinary wellness exam report, health certificate (if flying), personalized vaccination schedule (via nomograph), pre-registered microchip, and most importantly lifetime breeder support.
